Graeme Hanby and his wife moved into the Seachange Lifestyle Resort in Arundel, on Queensland’s Gold Coast, in September 2015. Since then, they’ve enjoyed a unique community experience that’s all about adventure and friendship.

In 2015, Graeme and his wife bought a caravan. As they met other residents with caravans, they formed a small group and began taking trips to local holiday parks. Word spread quickly, and soon, even those without caravans wanted to join in. As a result, the Seachange Arundel Caravan & Cabin Group was born, with Graeme as the coordinator.

Now, 10 years later, the group has grown to 210 Seachange residents. “We average about 30 bookings every time we travel,” Graeme said, “and it’s wonderful to see solo residents joining us as well.”

Their first trip was to Mullumbimby, New South Wales, in 2016. Since then, the group has travelled to a variety of spots across Queensland and New South Wales, including Neurum Creek, Brunswick Heads, Evans Head, Lightning Ridge, Yamba, Airlie Beach, and more. They take at least three trips each year to explore new destinations and enjoy the company of fellow residents.

Before each trip, the group meets to plan activities. For 2025, their first trip will be to the Tasman North Star Hastings Point Holiday Park in May. They’ll follow up with another trip to Evans Head in July and a visit to Southwest Rocks in October.

When they’re not travelling, the group enjoys activities like lawn bowls, golf, and games such as disc bowls, finska, tumbling tower, and ladder golf.

Graeme says, “New residents at Seachange are always welcome to join our group!” So, if you’re looking for a vibrant, social community with plenty of adventures, Seachange could be the perfect place for you.

Safe travels to Graeme and the Seachange Arundel Caravan & Cabin Group!
