Stockland’s Aura development, Australia’s largest masterplanned community on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, is about to get even more exciting with construction now underway on Aura Parklands – a major new recreational destination that promises fun for all ages.
Located in the future Aura City Centre, the new 5.3-hectare landmark will feature a 2,100m² swimming lagoon (almost the size of two Olympic swimming pools), complete with lifeguards, water play zones, and graded, accessible edges for everyone to enjoy.
There will also be:
- BBQ and picnic areas
- Shaded lawns and forest walks
- Event spaces
- Walking and cycling pathways
- Integrated access to the future Aura Retail Town Centre, supporting local shops and eateries
Aura Parklands is expected to open by the end of 2026, forming part of a broader 11.3-hectare recreational precinct.
Designed for lifestyle and connection
“Aura is a vibrant and connected community that celebrates the quintessential Sunshine Coast lifestyle,” said David Laner, Stockland’s General Manager – QLD Development.
“Aura Parklands will give families a place to picnic, kids a safe spot to swim and play, and the whole community a space to come together.”
Stockland says the project builds on its commitment to creating neighbourhoods with energy, soul and life. The development was officially launched with Sunshine Coast Mayor Rosanna Natoli and Council.
Lagoon to be operated by Sunshine Coast Council
The lagoon will have a maximum depth of 1.8 metres and include stepped entry points and accessible designs. Sunshine Coast Council will operate and maintain the lagoon once complete, including lifeguards, security, and daily operations.
