A Gold Coast grandfather is taking kids on a virtual tour around the world with his Can Do Kids Band.
Psychologist Dr Charles Margerison, a resident at Odyssey Lifestyle Care Communities Robina, has launched the new online resource, which he says helps children between six and 12 years old learn about countries, cultures and communities.
“Our resource allows students to step outside the classroom into a virtual world where their natural born curiosity around travel can begin.
“We inspire students with the ‘can do’ spirit that is essential for success and can be embedded into classrooms around the world to promote online learning and teach kids to embrace new experiences and pursue opportunities,” he said.
Jae Fraser is the founder of Little Scholars, and says this is a great example of an intergenerational initiative that supports the young and the old alike.
“Children having interactions with people who are one or even two generations older than themselves can be extremely meaningful and provide a deeper understanding of the world around them – not to mention seeing how impactful these interactions are on the older generation,” he said.
