Forget the clichés – a new podcast is breaking the mould on what it means to grow older.

Brightwater, a leading aged care and retirement living provider in Western Australia, has launched a podcast that’s changing the way we talk about ageing. I’m Too Old For This is a candid, often funny, and always heartfelt series hosted by Brightwater CEO Dr Cath Stoddart PSM, alongside Rob, a retired copywriter, and 90-year-old gym-goer Vina.

Together, they dive into the realities of ageing – the highs, the lows, and everything in between. From the fear of dying to the joy of newfound friendships, and even the curiosity that still surrounds sex later in life, I’m Too Old For This offers a refreshing and human take on getting older.

“This is the conversation about ageing we should’ve been having all along,” says Dr Cath.

In an industry where discussions often focus on clinical care, this podcast is a welcome shift. For aged care professionals, families, and anyone curious about what later life really looks like, it offers unfiltered stories, laughs, and insights from people living it every day.

Season one is now streaming on YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Podcasts – and more episodes are on the way.
