When choosing retirement living or a land lease community, you would be mad not to know what is possible outside the gates.

Moving into seniors living can open the door to new friendships, shared activities and a more social lifestyle. But those connections should not stop at the gates.

That’s the thinking behind a partnership between AVID Property Group’s Vantage Bloomdale land lease community at Diggers Rest, 28km northwest of Melbourne’s CBD, and one of the region’s best-known sporting and social clubs.

Vantage Bloomdale has renewed its partnership with Club Sunbury, giving residents more opportunities to meet people, enjoy activities and become involved in the wider community.

More than just lawn bowls

Club Sunbury has been bringing people together for more than 60 years.

The club offers lawn bowls, dining, entertainment and social activities, making it a popular meeting place for residents.

Under the partnership, Vantage Bloomdale residents can enjoy opportunities to participate in club events and activities, with special food and drink discounts also part of the original arrangement.

The relationship creates another way for residents to develop friendships outside their immediate neighbourhood.

AVID General Manager Victoria Penny Forrest said supporting local organisations was an important part of building a connected community.

“Our partnership with Club Sunbury reflects our commitment to supporting local groups and helping create opportunities for connection within the wider community,” she said.

A community within a community

Vantage Bloomdale is AVID’s first Victorian land lease development, offering modern homes and resort-style facilities for over-50s.

Its $13 million clubhouse includes a swimming pool, gymnasium, cinema and spaces for residents to socialise.

Stage 1 is complete, with Stage 2 now selling and a new Sales and Information Centre opening.
