Lederhosen, laughter and lively music took centre stage when Lincoln Place’s Officer Lifestyle Estate, 48km southeast of Melbourne’s CBD, threw open its gates for an Oktoberfest celebration at the weekend.

Residents, their families and friends, and locals from across the region enjoyed an afternoon of Bavarian-themed fun with entertainment, food and community spirit on tap.

From traditional German sausages and pretzels to a lineup of craft beers and lively tunes, the popular Over-50s’ land lease community delivered a touch of Germany to Officer Lifestyle Estate– no passport required!

Community Manager, Elle Brown (main photo, centre), said Officer Lifestyle Estate was home to a vibrant group of residents.

“Our first Oktoberfest event brought everyone together – residents, families, and the wider Officer community – in the spirit of fun and friendship,’’ Elle said.

“It was a perfect way to experience the energy of our community while enjoying a taste of German culture.’’

More than 150 people attended the event, with live entertainment, food stalls, children’s entertainment and face painting.

Visitors had an opportunity to tour the community, its facilities and new display homes.

Elle said the day added another joyful chapter to Officer Lifestyle Estate’s growing calendar of events and reinforced its reputation as a place where community spirit thrives.

“It looks like Oktoberfest will become an annual celebration for residents,’’ she said.

The final release of homes in this almost sold-out community – priced from $540,000 – are under construction with the first homes move-in ready from November.
